Tv Channels

In Save the Homeland, there are three channels that can get pretty indepth. Of course you have your Weather Channel but you also have your Farming Tips Channel and the Horoscope Channel. Below is a detailed list of these Channels.
Channel 1: Weather
The Weather Channel is a key channel to watch every morning and evening. It is the first channel that appears on your television set when you first turn on your tv. In Save the Homeland, this weather channel tells you the percentage chance of it raining the next day. This gives you a chance to make key decisions on whether or not you should bring in or leave out your animals over night.
Percentages
0%: This means that there is no possible way that it will rain the next day.
20%: Very slight chance of rain, but usually it is worth it to risk it.
40%: Slight chance of rain, this is one of those call of the moments on whether or not you should bring your animals in or not.
60%: High chance of rain, plan on bringing your animals in because the chances that it won't rain aren't too high.
80%: Very High chance of rain, definately bring in your animals.
100%: No possible way that it will not rain.
Channel 2: Farming Tips
This is a channel in which they teach you various things about farming. You will learn everything from how to take care of crops to how to raise your animals. Can be very informative on farming information.
Channel 3: Horoscopes
The Horoscopes Channel is a channel that predicts what type of day you will have according to your star sign. The star signs are given to you by the date of your birth. Although some people do not believe in Horoscopes, others do. It can be a fun thing to see if your Horoscope for the day was true or not.

Cancer: June 22 to July 22
Leo: July 23 to August 22
Virgo: August 23 to September 22
Libra: September 23 to October 22
Scorpio: October 23 to November 21
Sagittarius: November 22 to December 21
Capricorn: December 22 to January 19
Aquarius: January 20 to February 18
Pisces: February 19 to March 20

Harvest Moon Save The Homeland - Cooking Recipes

Cooking Recipes

You cannot just start cooking meals right off the bat, first you must add on the kitchen (see House Extensions or Upgrades). You will be able to use 3 different utensils to cook, this includes the Frying Pan, Pot and Oven. There are many recipes!
To begin cooking, stand in front of the utensil you want to use and press the X button. You can then select up to 3 ingredients to use from your Rucksack, and then press the Start button when you're ready to cook. That's all you have to do!
If you are rotating through the ingredients and you can't remember the name of something, press the Select button and a description will pop up. The items you have stored in your Freezer are not available for ingredient selection so you'll have to put any of those items in your Rucksack if you want to use them in a recipe.

Harvest Moon Save The Homeland - House Upgrades

House Upgrades

Save the Homeland doesn't have too many House Extensions. It is kind of like the original Harvest Moon for SNES which had only a couple extensions. Below is a list of the two extensions available in this game. Unlike the other games, these extensions only take one day for the Carpenters to build. The day after you buy the extension, it will be complete in the morning that you wake up. To buy an extension in this game, go to Woody's House and check the list. Below is a description of each.

Dog House Price: 5000 Gold The Dog House is simple a House for your Dog which is located right next to your House. The only requirement that you need is to have a Dog. You must first catch one in the wild and get it to love you. Once you have just simply caught the dog you will be able to buy the Dog House. The Dog House is used for keeping your Dog healthy when it rains out. Instead of you having to bring your dog indoors, you just leave it outside and it will sleep in its Dog House all on its own.

Kitchen
Price: 10000 Gold
The Kitchen is mainly used for making recipes. To enter your Kitchen there will be a door added to the main room of your house. In the Kitchen is a Refrigerator to store any food items to use for making Recipes. You also can store your Frying Pan, Pot, Oven, etc. There are two other doors in the Kitchen. The one on the right will lead you to the bathroom, whereas the one of the left leads you to washroom. The washroom has a bathtub in it and you use that to help restore some of your stamina that you may have lost during the day. When cooking in the Kitchen, you can use up to three ingredients per recipe. Check out the Recipes page for more information.
